Parent Consultations
Parenting is the most important yet challenging job you may have ever had. Children aren't born with manuals and what you did with one child may not work with the other.

The goal of parent consultations are to empower and provide you with knowledge and the right strategies that are unique to your child or adolescent's and family’s needs. It could also be helpful when you’re preparing your them for family changes such as divorce. We will provide you with information and guidance regarding managing emotional and behavior concerns, helping your child deal with stressors, balancing the duties of being a parent while providing for the family, and so on.
If your child/teen is already being seen by one of our therapists, parent consultations are a regular part of the ongoing therapy relationship when children/adolescents are in therapy.

Supporting the Parents
In child/teen therapy, it is essential to recognize that the therapeutic process does not solely focus on the child; rather, it encompasses a holistic approach that includes supporting parents as well. This dual focus is crucial for fostering an environment conducive to the child’s emotional and psychological growth.
These sessions provide a platform for parents to discuss their concerns, gain insights into their child’s behavior, and learn effective strategies to reinforce the therapeutic work being done with their child. During these consultations, therapists can offer guidance on parenting techniques, communication skills, and ways to create a supportive home environment.
Regular Updates: Keeping parents informed about their child’s progress in therapy helps them understand what is being addressed and how they can contribute positively at home.
Workshops and Resources: Providing educational workshops or resources on topics such as child development, emotional regulation, and behavioral management equips parents with tools they need to support their children effectively.
Encouraging Parental Involvement: Actively involving parents in therapy sessions when appropriate can strengthen the parent-child bond and enhance therapeutic outcomes.
Emotional Support: Recognizing that parenting can be challenging, therapists often provide emotional support to parents themselves, helping them navigate their feelings of stress or uncertainty regarding their child’s needs.
By integrating these elements into our practice, we ensure that both children and their parents receive comprehensive support tailored to foster healthy development and resilience.

Therapy extends beyond just the direct support provided in the office.
