Education
Dena studied Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Johns Hopkins University. Prior to working in a private practice setting, Dena gained a great deal of experience working at an intensive outpatient setting providing therapy to adults, adolescents, and children.
Prior to working in the mental health field, Dena graduated from Towson University with a Bachelors degree in Elementary and Special Education. She spent eight years as a Montgomery County Public School educator at a National Blue Ribbon School. She has experience coaching high school adolescents, working with students with special needs, as well as consulting parents.

Areas of Expertise
She specializes in the treatment of anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, infertility counseling, processing and adjusting to life changes, and helping individuals navigate relationships or divorce struggles.
She is passionate about helping individuals find their voice, become more assertive, increase self-esteem, and find their path in order to start working on their life goals.

Through evidence-based interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brainspotting, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness techniques, Internal Family Systems, and Solution Focused Therapy. Dena has a way of helping you stay grounded in the present while you explore and express your struggles

You can sense Dena's genuine passion for helping you right away. She is direct yet warm. Her goal is for you to feel understood and valued. She takes the time to truly get to know you. She understands that sometimes it's difficult to think of what goals you'd like to accomplish in therapy and will work with you to craft your individualized treatment plan unique to your needs and will consistency review and add new goals. Whether it's working through trauma from your past or helping you set boundaries, you will feel like you have someone you can genuinely trust in your corner to help you through it all.
